I started this painting today with the idea of commemorating my German heritage. It is enjoyable to paint beautiful and sentimental objects. The German bear, possibly a Steiff bear, is pretty old as is the teacup. They belonged to my grandmother, then my mother, and now they are entrusted to me. This is pretty much done now. I see areas that I could still work on further, now that I have taken a picture and posted. I may continue with this later. There is a time at the end of a large painting where I find myself putting in highlights, dark notes, and adjusting details. It is sort of like putting on earrings.
