"Classic Red"

"Classic Red" by Sandra Galda
4"x4" oil on gessobord

Sometimes this type of apple survives a long time in my kitchen.  One just like this has been part of a still life since March and it is not awful yet.  If interested in purchasing this or any of my available art on this blog, contact my email address sgalda@aol.com or use PayPal button if included in this post. More Than Whole (NA)

More Than Whole by Sandra Galda (NA)
6"x6" oil on Ray mar board
100.00

Today I spent lots of time finishing a commission and did this small daily painting last. It seemed to flow faster off my brush after having tackled a large work first! It was a nice change in my work habit. If interested in purchasing contact my email address sgalda@aol.com Thanks for looking, tell me what you think-leave a comment! Snack and Stack

Snack and Stack by Sandra Galda
6"x6" oil on Ray mar canvas board
100.00
We found an almost complete Fiestaware styled dish set at a garage sale a month ago, and they are still stacked on my counter...I just have run out of places to put my models for painting. Now the family is using them for eating their food, they are right at hand! The blue/green cup is from that set. Below is a picture of my little artist's helper....my faithful friend. When I finished todays painting, I finally noticed her under the easel-I guess she wants some attention!

Green Apple Company

Green Apple Company by Sandra Galda
6"x4" oil on canvas board
It is still raining out, but despite the gloom, I went out and retrieved this red daisy for today's painting. It looked happier in the rain than I was! It also looked happy visiting with the green apple. If interested in purchasing contact my email address sgalda@aol.com Thanks for looking, tell me what you think-leave a comment! Apple Approbation (sold)

Apple Approbation by Sandra Galda
4"x6" oil on canvas
These apples seem to be sizing one another up. I hope they meet with mutal approval? I have been keeping so many of these granny smith apples around for my daughter who loves to eat them and for me who often paints them, that I had to make apple crisp last night with some before they spoil. Pattern of Healthy Snacking (NA)

Pattern of Healthy Snacking by Sandra Galda  (NA)
6"x8" oil on gessoboard
This was an exercise of editing and simplification. The patterned cloth is sort of new for me in a small painting. It's from an upholstery sample book. I loosed all the fabric swatches, put them on a ring and hung them in a closet near my easel. in process: Apple Pie Supply by Sandra Galda (NA)

Here is an 8"x10" oil I am working in the midst of some uncooperative weather...ice storms that have wiped out electricity in our area. We now have power, but soooooooo many still do not. I hope to finish this in the next day or so. Baking must be really on my mind....I am both baking and painting about baking....Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas everyone! If you are interested please contact me by email on this one. It is not done yet though---clip is still visible at top right. Below is the easel set up I am using.

The above photo shows my current set up---I have clips holding the small works to a portable easel that clamps onto my big oak easel. The big oak easel holds a larger painting that takes way longer to complete while I do the small ones. When I want to resume working on the larger--wha-la--I just pop off the portable easel.

Cold December Granny (NA)

Cold December Granny by Sandra Galda
5"x5" oil on gessoboard

This looks like the standard "perfect" granny smith apples that can be found round here in December. You know, in a plastic bag, all alike and perfect...but kind of stiff and too perfect. Not at all like the specimens our apple trees produced this year in our yard...they were pretty unusual. to purchase, contact my email sgalda@aol.com
