Pear Positioned (NA)

Pear Positioned by Sandra Galda (NA)
6"x8" oil on Raymar canvas board

Did this at the oil class yesterday offered by Ron Straka. He gave me some much needed critique on my work. My shadows have tended to be too cool and need warmth and a closer attention to including the local color of the surfaces my shadows rest on. I now have some great ideas from Ron how to remedy this. My shadows are a bit warmer and more correct here dont you think? If interested in purchasing contact my email address sgalda@aol.com or use PayPal button if included in this post. Bridesmaid Bouquet

Bridesmaid Bouquet by Sandra Galda
6"x6" oil on Raymar
150.00

I am back from a very busy long weekend. One of our three children, a son, is now married! This painting records my daughter's bridesmaid bouquet, she enjoyed standing up for the wedding as a bridesmaid! I tried not to paint too much detail. The flowers included Hydrangea, a really fussy flower to paint because of all the smaller flowers within one flower. If interested in purchasing any of my available paintings on this blog, contact my email address sgalda@aol.com Thanks for looking, tell me what you think-leave a comment! Above is a picture of my son and his wife and my husband who performed the wedding at their request! My hubby is also an ordained minister---he was a full time missionary very early in our marriage. Although for years and years he has derived his income from a secular career, he occasionally performs various church duties. He likes being bi-vocational. What an amazing wedding. Our daughter was a bridesmaid and our other son was the best man. --And I just enjoyed :)

We found an almost complete Fiestaware styled dish set at a garage sale a month ago, and they are still stacked on my counter...I just have run out of places to put my models for painting. Now the family is using them for eating their food, they are right at hand! The blue/green cup is from that set. Below is a picture of my little artist's helper....my faithful friend. When I finished todays painting, I finally noticed her under the easel-I guess she wants some attention!

Workshop exercise: Green Apple

Green Apple by Sandra Galda
Oil on gessoboard 6"x6"
I have learned so much in the Carol Marine workshop, and met many wonderful and talented artists there! We explored many concepts that artists must grapple with in order to produce attractive significant small paintings. If anyone would like to see the artblog of Carol Marine, click here ! I have been out of town since last Thursday through late Sunday night and only posted drawings and one painting. Since gettting back home I have been taking a three day workshop. Therefore, if you are visiting my blog for the first time, look thru my previous posts to see my work completed before the above mentioned happy interruptions.
