The past month or so has been very busy and I have not been producing small daily works to post.  Instead, here is some of the artwork I have been doing. I am working on a still life following and learning the process taught at Ingbretson studios, it takes much longer. I painted the small landscape sketch (riverscape?) a couple weeks ago. It was an outdoor painting day at the studio, many of the students participated and we had beautiful weather. I took a good picture of it with my camera, maybe I will finish it someday.

"Boston BU Building"

"Boston BU Building" by Sandra Galda (NA)
16"x20"

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone has the best New Year possible!  It is  1-1-11  !!!  I had the chance over the holiday to fiddle with this old painting.  I have not worked with landscape images very much, but had some time to tweak this attempt I made a couple years ago.  I have so much to learn regarding painting and I think the learning never ends.  Painting is really challenging.  If interested in purchasing this, or any of my available art on this blog, contact my email address sgalda@aol.com or use the PayPal button if included in the post. In Process: large landscape by Sandra Galda

Here is a shot of my ongoing work on a much neglected landscape--I stand right on that chair and paint it while it hangs. This behemoth needs sooooo much work...it really is my large exercise in "cutting my teeth" on landscape. When I really get into it, I take the monster down and put in on my oak easel. It is 50 x60 inches..I stretched it for one of my art classes at Harvard and have since over painted it with this scene in progress. I rarely paint landscapes now, my agenda is to paint daily and still life just seems to be the best way for me to learn fast and paint daily--right in my home. I few years ago I painted a number of huge landscapes for theater sets. I have also done much smaller landscape paintings in the past.
