Wow. . .this is a great little value study and I love the subtle coloration! Nicely composed also.

You know how to work with browns, sepias...as well as you do with greens and reds. Wonderful.

Love this monochromatic look. There is something very appealing...like the difference of looking at a colored photo compared to a b/w. All of the values and shapes are so clear and beautiful. Nice job!

Sandra, I love this! Great subject matter, great composition! Very sophisticated!
A monotone color palette can make such a strong statement!

This is a cute little painting. Did you play with them after and burn down your studio?

This work is of a sensitivity and fantastic exquisiteness.

Thanks so much everone! So encouraging. I agree the monotone study helps put the concentration on the suble values changes, a nice change from color... and I resisted the impulse and did not play with the matches :)

A classy nightclub, a romantic evening, and from somewhere in the background, over the murmurs of very private conversations, Peggy Lee can be heard softly singing...

You've painted a novella on a 4"x6" canvas. Nicely done.
