Handmade Vase and Orange Daisy

Handmade Vase and Orange Daisy by Sandra Galda
6"x8" oil on canvas board

Wow this took a lot of time today to paint! I underestimated both how hard it is to paint a strangely fired pot and a larger format. It is very challenging to paint flowers. We bought several different colored types of this plant so I could create different color schemes in the small daily paintings. If interested in purchasing contact my email address sgalda@aol.com Thanks for looking, tell me what you think-leave a comment! Paintings by Sandra Galda are copyright.

Sandra, Great job on the flowers. Every time I check your blog, you are even better than the day before. Flowers are so hard and you are nailing them!

This is so beautifully vibrant. Love the primary palette and the light and shadow on the flower. I agree...flowers are hard to paint but you did a great job. Looking forward to more.

You are both so nice to write those things, thank you! It means a lot because you are both such wonderful artists whom I look to for inspiration almost everyday! Don't you just love the art blogging community? I was thinking today that it is like an artists commune of old--only bigger and more far reaching! I have learned so much by this daily painting custom and by visiting other art blogs and learning!

Sandra, this is great. I love the play between the blue vase and yellow flower. The values read very well all around, and the way you handled the blue vase really helps it read as a hard, shiny surface. Nice job!

Visited your blog for the first time and wow, what a great color palette in this one. Also love all of your glass work in previous posts, not easy to paint but you captured the vases perfectly.

WOW.... very nice.. love the brush strokes... .you always have such great subjects...

I am really looking forward to some of the summer gardens to come into bloom so I can go "find" me some subjects.... I live in a great section of town with big old summer homes with amazing gardens... and some even have given me picking priviledges...
