Friday's Foible (NA)

I keep a small sketchbook and some sketching pencils in my purse for attempts at regular sketching--at least once a week. These boots will be today's post unless I finish a small painting later tonight. Below is a better photo of yesterday's small painting. I am amazed at what a difference lighting can make. I took this photo when I got home from an all day outing today, but by the time I got home and took the picture, it was thundering and raining. Yup, you guessed another bad lighting moment--but better than late last night... I took it anyway, came in the house and promptly dropped the painting. Yup, jelly side down....alas it is just fine because the paint was well set and almost dry. but still.......what a foible.....

I just experienced the same problem with lighting this past week. Great painting, but I really like your pencil sketch!

This photo looks so different than yesterdays! Is it closer to the real thing?

Hi Trish, so nice to meet you here, I love to draw, do you? I will visit your blog. Thanks Karen you are so sweet-- I am excited to recieve your award and will visit you :) It will be my first art blog award, and I am in the dark as to what that custom is all about. I have seen folks mention it. R Garriott, nice to meet you too, and yes, thanks, I am adding you too!!! Also, yes, it is the very same painting, the exposure variations really make such a difference. Best for me is outside on front porch, in bright but indirect light. I think it is a bit closer to the real thing. Silly me, I may take another pic tomorrow, when the sun is hopefully out, and see it that is again a big difference. I am sure I can not be the only artist taking home digitals of their art to post and has such struggles:) thanks so much! It has really been a long week, I am so glad it is Friday!

Sandra,
I love that green! How do you mix it? The red looks great with it. Nice job.
