No, this is not an oil painting--I know I know--this is a blog about my small oil paintings. I think should be permitted to stray just a bit, because my drawing of Michelangelo's prophet-Zechariah is I believe, so appropriate to my current task of editing, resubmitting, and upon approval, printing and binding my thesis about Michelangelo. Even though I have graduated, this "little" final task has got to be done. Graphite on paper. It is not available, because I gifted it to a special professor at Harvard whose teaching on Renaissance Art I enjoyed so much.

Here is another try at the roses from that bouquet. It is amazing to me that some of the roses still look like roses, they are over a week old. I just keep snipping the stems down...here is a short but surviving one! I do believe I caught it better this time, practice does help! 5x7 oil on gesso board.

This is one of the three dozen roses my hubby purchased as we were leaving NYC on our hoiliday day trip with the kids, and in particular, our soon to be engaged son and his sweet girlfriend. It was the very next day our son proposed to his wonderful girl. We are thrilled!
