"Call Me"

"Call Me" by Sandra Galda
4"x4" oil on gessoboard

Our son was busy packing up and moving to his condo this week and we have been busy helping him move in. This is one of his phones, he promises to call often :) If interested in purchasing this or any of my available art on this blog, contact my email address sgalda@aol.com or use PayPal button if included in this post. I love the color scheme - it reminds me of a lot of illustrations from the 50's. Yellow has always been a "buy me" color.

This is a fabulous painting, Sandra! Don't worry, your son will call you! Funny about the first comment here - a gallery owner nearby said "Always include 'blue'. 'Blue' is the 'buy-me' color! So maybe we should just avoid red???? ;)

love the old phone. And the thing about blue is quite interesting.

thanks Jeremy, Kelley, and Mary! good comments! You'd think with a graphics education I would remember what all the "buy me colors are....but those lessons were long ago...but I am left with the idea that primaries have a dramatic affect on buyers depending on what the aim market is. Medicine likes mostly clean whites and blue.. cool restful. For selling food- red and yellow...there is way more to it all and I would have to read up on it. Yes, son has called and actually is sick now with a cold ...with all the boxes...makes me want him home!
