English Daisies in Glass Vase

English Daisies in Glass Vase by Sandra Galda
7"x5" oil on Gesso Board

I turned the painting upside down to double check the symmetry of the vase and found that method to be very effective in helping me to correct my tendency to paint objects slightly tilted. I think I will keep using that method! If interested in purchasing contact my email address sgalda@aol.com Thanks for looking, tell me what you think-leave a comment! Sandra, you have such a wonderful sense of color. I love the interplay between the warm and cool notes in the petals.

A small hand mirror to look at your painting backwards also can help with drawing errors. I do both the mirror and upside down technique sometimes.

Jeremy, thanks so much, I have looked only mildly into the complex topic of color temperature, I see it is a pretty big topic that will take some time to research. I have widened my thoughts on the subject but have vastly more to learn. I cling to the guideline, "paint what you see...," in the meantime.
Tim it was a pleasure to meet you, and all the terrific folks at the workshop, and I also look forward to visiting your blog! It is so fun to see all our efforts in this area! Best wishes to you and your painting adventure and the seasonal art activities with Franny and the gallery---I hope to drive down there and visit sometime this summer!
