In Process: "Egg"

In Process: "Egg" by Sandra Galda
8x10 inch oil on gessoboard
I never painted a raw egg before and so many artists do--so yup, I am trying it out. At 8"x10" size...it is going to take a while to finish this one! Hope nothing toxic happens to the egg while it waits... Yes! Go for the egg! You've done a wonderful job. Keeping the palette well within the yellow and purple/grays works so beautifully here.

Grat colors. And it looks like you have mastered the egg already.

I just spent the past half hour looking at your work. I love it. I love your loose style. I love your use of color...so unexpected in some paintings...dramatic and inspiring. Such a great job with the egg...I can imagine how difficult it would be to express its tranparency. You did it! Oh...I wish you were closer to me...I'd love lessons!

Sandra, this is a beauty. I just saved a bunch of eggshells and bought a clear glass sugar bowl and an antique spoon at a flea market to do one of those great Carol type paintings. Your work is exciting.
